Peter Burns worked in the chemical industry, at the Alfred Pearson and Chempro companies.  Unfortunately he suffered from alcoholism later in life. He was married for 26 years, but his marriage to his wife Pemby ended in divorce.  He died in Durban of pancreatic cancer on 6th January 1996.
