After 30 years in the trade finance industry, sold Irvine International Trade Finance (Pty) Ltd. to JSE listed company. Saw out service contract then spent 4 years with Nedbank managing several projects. After 9 years as a Partner of wealth management group Citadel Investment Services Ltd and 3 years with Prescient Ltd., am now closely associated with Skybound Capital, a boutique wealth advisory business, via my company Irvine Wealthcare Consulting Pty Ltd. Joburg has been good to me and I have no plans to retire at the coast (at least not in the foreseeable future), specially with a son and grandson also here. |
Hobbies/Interests: |
Try to keep fit and also play golf weekly out of Johannesburg Country Club, currently off 3 handicap. Keep a superficial interest in cricket, golf and rugby. Support The Lions Rugby Team and follow sport on TV. Am an avid game and bird watcher (although not in John Thompson's league), and an enthusiastic amateur wine drinker. |
School Story: | Matriculated 1962... seems like yesterday. Generally enjoyable and certainly character building, D H S retains a warm spot in my heart. Choosing one stand out memory is not easy, but perhaps Archie Bruton deciding to bunk Dusty Raper's Latin class in the Standard 9 prefabs by hiding in the cupboard up front was it. He forgot that it was a double lesson, got cramp after about an hour, burst out onto the floor and told Dusty that he had been looking for a book... Archie you legend...! Or when Cohen and Robertson tried to gersh Izak van Heerden that same year, only for him to grab them by the hair, bash their heads together and throw them out of the window...luckily for them the distance to the ground was only about 2 metres... |
